Michael Thiel Beckers

Attorney Michael Thiel Beckers joined Dodson, Hooks & Frederick in September 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Michael practiced with one of the state's largest and most respected maritime defense firms. Michael now has a diverse practice representing those injured both on land and on the high seas. The matters that Michael litigates usually involve issues of serious personal injury and/or death arising out of maritime accidents, workplace injuries, auto accidents and premises liability. Michael also handles cases involving wage disputes and the Employee Retirement Income Securities Act (ERISA).

In addition to handling his own case load, Michael manages two senior partner litigation dockets. This includes taking corporate depositions of masters of vessels for jones act seamen cases, deposing physicians in medical malpractice claims, preparing personal injury cases for trial and is the firm's go-to brief author.

Michael is a Baton Rouge native and attended undergraduate at LSU. He graduated from LSU in 2002 with a BS in Finance and was a member of the Dean's List. While at LSU, Michael was a member of the men's golf team and was a Varsity Letterman from 1999-2001. Michael graduated from LSU Law School in 2005 and was a member of the Chancellor's List.
